My name is Dylan Southerland and I am 23 years old from a small town in the upstate of South Carolina called Belton. My entire family is from there and until moving to college it was the only place I had ever lived. Athletics has been a huge part of my life since I was 4 years old I have been on a baseball field, and I played through high school and had the luxury of being able to play at a small Div. II school called Newberry College in Newberry, SC. Also while at Newberry college I served on the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Leadership team for all four years, and served as president my senior year.
I graduate from Newberry College in December of 2018 with a Degree in Physical Education and a minor in coaching/leadeship. I have a true passion for teaching at the elementary school level because I feel that as a physical educator I can have a huge impact on the younger generation by being a positive role model and helping students realize how important it is to live a healthy lifestyle. I am currently an assistant baseball coach at Wren High School, and I aspire to hopefully be a head coach someday. I love all sports, and I hope to help all the students I teach understand the importance of all of the life lessons that sports can teach. If you ever need to reach me the best way to do so is by email which I will list below. I look forward to working with all of the students at Hunt Meadows Elementary and I am excited for the upcoming year.
