My name is Kelly McClatchy, and this is my 18th year teaching. I have lived in Easley my whole life. I attended Erskine College and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I also attended Clemson University and received a Master’s Degree in Reading. I am also certified in Early Childhood Education.
I am married and have 5 children. When I am not at school, I enjoy playing with my children, reading, going to church, and going to the movies.  I have one dog and one cat.

When I was young I was a dancer; I even danced in college. I also did gymnastics as a child. When I was older, I taught gymnastics for five years. I also coached competitive cheerleading.

My favorite grade in school was kindergarten. I loved making letters with cookie dough, and using the “Light Bright” to make letters. I especially liked nap time.

I hope to become a children’s author one day because I love to pretend. I like to imagine unusual places and characters. My favorite books are: Charlotte’s Web, Pictures of Hollis Woods, Star Girl, Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, The Winter of Red Snow, Dear Levi, The Monster at The End of This Book, Freckle Juice, Fourth Grade Rats, and Double Fudge.

I look forward to learning about all of my students this year. I hope I can pass my love of reading and writing to YOU!
